What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Yes it is an annual national holiday (in Canada it is celebrated on the 2nd Monday of October and on the 4th Thursday of November in the United States) marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey, but what really is the underlying emotional value about it? Simply put, the answer is expressing gratitude and showing thanks for all that we have. I remember attending Sunday Church service as a child and at this time of year the church was decorated with the bounty of the harvest: sheaths of wheat, garden produce including potatoes, beets, carrots, onions and more. It’s a nice warm and fuzzy memory of mine, which to this day lends me an appreciation of gardening, farming and especially the harvest season, when family and friends would gather together to help and by doing so, enjoy each other’s company.
Once again I will be leading my team called Learn Picapix in the Alzheimer Walk & Run Thanksgiving Sunday in Calgary, AB. I hope you will click on this link to see how you might help with this special fundraising event.
My challenging puzzle of the month: 14. Impossible Tom is available for you to enjoy!
